Collectors call them Type B Reverse Washington Quarters, and they have two important features that set them apart:
- Lettering in “STATES”
- Look closely at the word STATES on the reverse (back) of the coin.
- On Type B quarters, there’s a clear space between the “E” and the “S”.
- Leaf & “A” in DOLLAR
- Check the word DOLLAR.
- On Type B quarters, one of the leaf tips touches the “A” in DOLLAR.
These two markers instantly confirm you have a Type B variety.
