A MAN was shot by cops as a bomb squad and counter-terror officers swooped on a home opposite a village pub last night.
A 100-metre cordon was put in place outside the Park Gate Inn in Hollingbourne, Kent, after police were called to the scene at around 7.15pm on Monday “to conduct an arrest”.

The force said during the drama “a firearm was discharged by a police officer” and a man “sustained injuries believed to be life-changing”.
Armoured police vehicles helped to secure the area before forensics officers began gathering evidence in black bags.
It is understood a bomb squad and counter-terror cops were at the scene but were not involved in the arrest.
Members of the public were advised to leave the area – with a significant police presence remaining through the night, according to locals.
The A20 Ashford Road was closed in both directions.
Today, an officer with a marked police car with lights flashing is stationed at each cordon – with one saying they did not know how long the blockage would be in place for.
The serious incident is understood to have taken place at a group of houses opposite the Park Gate Inn pub.
A statement from the establishment confirmed this, saying: “A police incident took place late last night in the houses opposite the pub”.
